Location near to central Cuenca and the historical center of Cuenca. Breakfast with individually prepared egg dishes, awesome waitstaff and also fresh juice. Free parking close to the hotel provided.

Wonderful old city part of town - the hotel staff was excellent - one of the hotel staff also does tours and we took advantage of that and visited Chordeleg and toured the countryside a bit - it was very helpful to have staff that could speak some english - it was appreciated !!

Apart from its location, both restaurant and bar service were excellent. The colonial style building itself is also impressive and would recommend it to friends
My only complaint was that the room was too hot and stuffy although I did mention this on check-out

Santa Lucia was within walking distance of the many city sights, such as museums, churches, panama hat stores, post office. There was an ice cream parlor right across the street from the hotel with out of this world ice cream made from local fruits, such as guava, passion fruit, mango, etc. I had two cones, two scoops each, for one dollar each, at one sitting.
There are no elevators and there are 3 floors. Not a problem if someone else will take your luggage up to the 3rd floor. The lighting in the rooms is dismal. Difficult to read at night. There is only one computer (internet access) available for all the guests.

I reserved a beautiful triple room here, which had a balcony, a cozy bed, and a neat sloping ceiling.

Excellent location to walk Historic Cuenca. Room spacious and well designed. Lobby, restaurants and bar very nice spaces. Restaurants served very excellent at reasonable prices. Although the staff had very limited English found us a room in another hotel when Santa Lucia was booked during Cuenca holiday. We booked a room for our return to Cuenca, and had to cancel due to serious illness. They did not charge us for the room despite the fact that they were entitled to based on their cancellation policy.
We visited the bar during Happy Hour, ordered martinis, were asked if we had a preference for our gin and were not told that Bombay Blue martinis weren't included in Happy Hour. Thus our bill for two martinis was $30 rather than $7, an unfortunate "surprise". Also we had dinner a couple of times, the first time left a small tip to augment the 10% service charge. The second time a rather haughty waiter suggested we tip him indicating that the 10% service charge was a tax and the waiters received nothing of this. We did tip but weren't left with a good feeling about either situation.
